His life, his character, his message
Born in Makkah
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was born in Makkah around 570 CE. His father, Abdullah, passed away before he was born, and his mother, Aminah, passed away when he was only six. He was raised first by his grandfather Abdul-Muttalib, then by his uncle Abu Talib.
Al-Amin — The Trustworthy
Even before he became a Prophet, the people of Makkah trusted him so much that they called him "Al-Amin," meaning "The Trustworthy One." He never lied, never broke a promise, and always returned what was given to him in trust.
The First Revelation
At the age of 40, while reflecting alone in the Cave of Hira, the Angel Jibril (Gabriel) came to him with the very first verses of the Quran. This moment marked the beginning of his mission as the final Prophet.
اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
Read in the name of your Lord who created.

The Hijrah to Madinah
When the early Muslims faced great hardship in Makkah, the Prophet ﷺ and his companions migrated to the city of Madinah in 622 CE. This journey, called the Hijrah, was so important that it marks the start of the Islamic (Hijri) calendar.
A Mercy to All Creation
The Quran describes him as "a mercy to all the worlds." He was gentle and playful with children, kind to animals, patient with people who treated him unkindly, and quick to forgive those who wronged him.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
— Surah Al-Anbiya 21:107
His Final Message
In his Farewell Sermon, delivered shortly before he passed away in 632 CE, he taught that all people are equal — "no Arab is better than a non-Arab except by piety and good action" — and reminded everyone to treat one another with justice, honesty, and kindness.
